PODCAST PORTFOLIO

I began my podcast hosting and production work in early 2015. As a Creative Pastor, I was frustrated with the short amount of time each Sunday that we had to interact with the people of our church. At that point, the To Be The Church Podcast was born. Currently, this weekly show has over 170 episodes. Out of this was also born the Church Music Matters Podcast, which is a nine-episode Radio Lab style interview show that I hosted, edited, produced, and wrote/recorded original score. Within this network, I also produced a 63-episode ministry/comedy show called Ex Youth Pastors, and currently produce a 35-episode exploration into film and faith called Cinema Stories.

In addition to my church work, I also have written and self-published three novels. The most recent, Trying Not To Be Human, was released in “episodes” as a storytelling podcast. I released it as I wrote it, inviting listeners to speak into the story as I wrote it. In addition to writing the narrative, I also wrote and recorded original music to accompany the episodes.

Below are examples of the shows I’ve work on.

CHURCH MUSIC MATTERS PODCAST

I wrote, recorded, edited, produced, and promoted this nine-episode season of a storytelling, Radio-Lab style interview podcast. I also wrote and recorded an original soundtrack for the show.

TRYING NOT TO BE HUMAN

This is my third novel, which I released as a storytelling podcast in 14 episodes. In addition to writing, recording, and editing the narrative, I also wrote and recorded original music for the show.

TO BE THE CHURCH PODCAST

To Be The Church is a 170+ episode weekly show that I co-host and produce. While it began as a way to communicate to our local church, it has grown into a church leadership podcast with a much wider audience than our local church.

EX-YOUTH PASTORS PODCAST

Ex-Youth Pastors was a 63-episode show exploring the awkward and funny world of youth ministry. On this show, I acted as an editor and producer.

CINEMA STORIES

Cinema Stories is a 35-episode bi-weekly show that explores the intersection of faith and film. On this show, I act as producer and one of the editors.
